England’s Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Conor Gallagher, Coby Mainu and Kieron Trippier were potentially at risk ahead of the quarter-final against Switzerland.
However, no player from England had to miss the semi-final match due to getting a card. This is good news for England coach Gareth Southgate.
England’s Mark Guehy has already missed a match due to a double yellow card. Therefore, he could not play the quarterfinal match against Switzerland. He is back in the team for the semi-finals.
Likewise, players from the Netherlands will not miss the semi-final match. In the quarter-final match against Turkey, four players from the Netherlands received yellow cards. Similarly, French captain Kylian Mbappe received a yellow card in the quarter-final match against Portugal. However, he will not miss the semi-final match. In addition, Antoine Griezmann, Aurelien and Ousmane Dembele were also potentially at risk. However, they will also get to play the semi-final match.
In this case, Spain is unlucky. Two of Spain’s dominant players will miss the semi-final match. Dani Carvajal and Rovin Le Normand will miss the semi-final due to receiving double yellow cards.
Dani Carvajal received two yellow cards in the quarter-final against Germany. Rowin received a yellow card against Italy in the group stage and against Germany in the quarter-finals. In addition, until the quarter-final match, the captain of the Spanish team, Alvaro Morata, was also at risk. However, he did not have to miss the semi-final match.
