In Nepal, 79.1% of IT freelancers are single according to public research released by the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IDS) on Monday.
The survey revealed that there are more than 66,000 IT freelancers in Nepal. Among the 389 respondents surveyed, 79.1 percent reported being unmarried.
Additionally, 48.8% of the freelancers were between the ages of 25 and 29 and 34.7% were between the ages of 20 and 24.
This indicates that young people are actively involved in exporting IT-related services.
According to the report, 79.5% of independent contractors have a bachelor’s degree, and 12.5% have a master’s degree.
6.4 percent have completed higher secondary education and 0.7 percent have received technical training before freelancing.
Furthermore, 64.7 percent of freelancers have received IT-related education while 35.3 percent have an IT background from abroad. The survey was conducted among those who pursued education before entering freelancing.
Out of the freelancers surveyed 93.7 percent completed their studies in Nepal while 64.7 percent received additional IT-related training. On the other hand, 35.3 percent of freelancers are actively working in their field through self-study.
