Los Angeles: The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) ‘Supersonic X-59’ aircraft has completed all preparations for its first flight.
The Flight Readiness Review Board, made up of NASA’s independent experts, has completed all the studies necessary for the X-59 project team from the point of view of human safety during flight and testing.
NASA said the review board looked in detail at the project team’s analysis of potential threats, focusing on safety and risk identification.
The aircraft is at the center of NASA’s ‘Quest’ mission and will use it to collect data on major improvements in air travel. This will pave the way for a new generation of commercial aircraft that can travel faster than the speed of sound.
