Kathmandu – 17 of the 20 American doctors trapped in Gaza have been safely rescued after Israel closed the border crossing from Rafah to Egypt.
At present they have come out, all of them want to go out, it has happened accordingly, I can’t speak for the other three. The spokesperson of the State Department said that their rescue was possible with the help of the American Embassy in Jerusalem. He informed that American doctors are in contact with the involved group and their families.
Sources said that even the three doctors who decided not to leave Gaza understood that the embassy would facilitate their departure. Sources said the embassy team traveled to the Kerem Shalom crossing to welcome the doctor at the border. After the departure of 17 of the 20 American doctors who were stranded there after Israel closed the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, aid organizations have to face the challenge of bringing the doctors back to Gaza.
