‘Nepal Day Parade‘ will be held in New York, USA. The main project of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, America New York Chapter and the participation of local Nepali organizations are going to parade in the city of Manhattan, New York this Sunday.
Gokul Shrestha, Tourism Promoter of the Government of Nepal for New York to make the parade a success, issued a statement and called upon all the Nepalis of Diaspora to participate in the ‘Nepal Day Parade’. The statement said, ‘The identity, art, culture and civilization of Nepal and the Nepali people have their own history and heritage as high as Mount Everest. The promotion of this glorious history and heritage is happening not only in Nepal but everywhere Nepalis are. The parade has been making an important contribution to establish their identity, unity and existence for Nepal and Nepalis in America.’
The Nepal Day Parade is going to be held with the cooperation and support of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, America New York Chapter and the cooperation and support of local Nepali organizations. Promoter Shrestha has claimed that the program will help bring the relationship between Nepal and America to the masses along with the promotion of Nepal’s original costumes, art, and culture. He expressed his belief that the Nepal Day Parade will also help in the promotion of Nepal’s tourism. It is said in the statement, ‘It is the responsibility of you and all of us Nepalis to make the program successful. It is also a historic opportunity for Nepali and American citizens of Nepali origin to feel belonging by participating in the program.
He called upon the dignitaries of the entire Nepalese community to participate in the Nepal Day Parade and asked them to come together from the city of Manhattan to spread the art and culture of Nepal and the Nepali people around the world and to contribute to the promotion of the glorious heritage.
Since 2016, Nepal Day Parade has been held every year on the occasion of Republic Day. In the parade, there is a significant participation of Nepali and Americans of Nepali origin from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
In the parade, various tableaus reflecting Nepali art and culture will be exhibited as well as various tourist destinations of Nepal. The parade will be followed by a parade through downtown Manhattan with a rally and bazaar.
