After receiving essential services in the village, 80-year-old Santabahadur Vik Harshit feels content. Living in Lairo Tek Budhawali he now shares his joys and sorrows with his companion Chimeki. After availing services like social security allowance identity card renewal, health check-up and medical treatment from the Ramapur Municipality-2 Attravas, he believes that the local government is indeed the people’s government.
We the senior citizens who have faced the scorching sun on our backs feel very comfortable when the local government provides all services in our village he said. We are not yet familiar with renewing our senior citizen allowance, getting health check-ups or how to get medical treatment.
Even when he was unwell and needed to visit the health center Santabahadur Vik had to face difficulty and walk for hours in the rough terrain to reach Tato Pani. But now after the local government brought all services to the village he can easily get the required help without leaving his home.
Another 70-year-old resident Man Kumari Vik also shares a similar experience. We the elderly citizens who have never had the chance to go to school cannot understand how to renew the documents for the allowance she said. Before I used to travel for hours to the village office and municipality office which was quite exhausting. Now everything is done right here in the village.
