There was a meeting between the Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Aman Lal Modi and the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah (Balen). The discussion took place at the Minister’s office in Singha Durbar, where they discussed cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Mayor Shah raised issues related to land acquisition in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, waste management concerns, and the translation of laws.
Mayor Shah requested support and coordination from the federal government through the Ministry for the development of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. In response, Minister Modi assured that necessary discussions would take place to address the issues and move forward with the solutions. As Minister Modi is currently working on legislation related to waste management, he also requested suggestions from the Metropolitan City regarding the lawmaking process.
“We are ready for coordination and cooperation between Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the federal government through the Ministry,” Minister Modi said. “We will move forward with solutions based on the necessary discussions you have raised regarding the current issues.”
