Kathmandu. Even after sunrise on the moon, it is seen that the Chandrayaan-3 mission will end as the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover could not be contacted. AS Kiran Kumar, a space scientist and the former president of India’s space agency, ISRO, has said that there is no possibility of the lander and rover waking up.
“Now there is no hope for the lander and rover to wake up. If they were fine, they would have woken up at this time. Now there is no possibility,” Indian news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) wrote, quoting him. He is also active in the Chandrayaan-3 mission and after making such a statement, it is analyzed that there is a possibility that the Chandrayaan-3 mission will end. However, scientists say that three major objectives of Chandrayaan-3 have been fulfilled. These include making a safe soft landing on the moon, walking a rover on the moon and conducting scientific tests.
ISRO scientists are trying to establish contact with the lander and rover. Scientists say that if contact is re-established, additional scientific tests can be conducted. ISRO had kept the lander and rover in ‘sleep mode’ since September 4 after nightfall on the moon. But even after the sunrise on 22 September, ISRO scientists are worried after the lander and the rover did not make contact. With the successful landing of a lander on the south pole of the moon on August 23, India became the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon and the first nation to successfully land a spacecraft on the south pole. In addition, through this project, there is a significant difference in temperature between the upper layer of the moon and its 10 cm depth, sulfur is found on the surface of the moon, lunar quakes (quakes like earthquakes) are recorded, the lander is flown up 40 cm and 30 cm.
