Kathmandu / In the ongoing ICC T-20 World Cup in America and West Indies, South Africa has registered its third victory in the tournament by defeating Bangladesh.
South Africa won by four runs against Bangladesh in the match that was held last night in New York, USA.
Chasing the general target of 114 runs given by South Africa, Bangladesh lost seven wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and ended up with 119 runs.
Tohid Hridoy scored the highest 37 runs for Bangladesh. He scored 37 runs in 34 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.
Similarly, Mahmudullah added 20 runs by hitting two fours in 27 balls. Apart from captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto hitting a six off 23 balls and scoring 14 runs, other players could not score runs in double figures.
On the bowling side, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj took three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Enrique Nortze took two wickets each.
Before that, South Africa, who won the toss and batted first, made a total of 113 runs for the loss of six wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
For South Africa, Henrik Klaasen scored 46 runs off 44 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Similarly, David Miller scored 29 runs off 38 balls. Opener Quinton Dickock added 18 runs off 11 balls.
Tanjim Saqib took three wickets and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets for Bangladesh. Similarly, Rishad Hossain took one wicket.
With this win, South Africa in Group ‘D’ has collected six points from three matches. Defeated Bangladesh has two points in two matches. The Netherlands in the same group also have two points from the same two matches.
Nepal and Sri Lanka are scoreless. Both teams have played one game each. The match between Nepal and Sri Lanka will be played tomorrow.
