West Indies have started the ICC T20 World Cup with a win.
In last night’s match, West Indies defeated Papua New Guinea by five wickets to start the World Cup with victory.
The target of 137 runs given by Papua New Guinea was completed by West Indies with the loss of 5 wickets with 6 balls remaining.
During that time, Roston Chase scored 42 runs and remained not out. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes off 27 balls.
Similarly, Brandon King hit 7 fours off 29 balls and added 34 runs. Nicholas Pooran scored 27 runs off 27 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes.
Captain Robman Powell added 15 runs and Andre Russell was not out after scoring 15 runs.
On the bowling side, Papua New Guinea’s Ashad Vala took 2 wickets and Alei Nao, Chad Soper and John Kariko took 1 wicket each.
Batting first, Papua New Guinea scored 136 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
During that time, Sese Bau scored a half-century. He scored 50 runs off 43 balls by hitting 6 fours and 1 six.
Kiplin Doriga was not out after scoring 27 runs.
Captain Asad Vala scored 21 runs off 22 balls by hitting 2 fours and 1 six.
