Kathmandu. The Nepali U-19 cricket team has entered the Super Six of the ICC U-19 World Cup. In the match on Friday, Nepal defeated Afghanistan by 1 wicket and entered the Super Six.
Chasing the target of 146 runs given by Afghanistan in East London, Nepal finished losing 9 wickets in 44 overs in 4 balls.
Captain Dev Khanal played a half-century of 58 runs for Nepal. He played 89 balls and hit 7 fours.
While Deepak Bohra scored 27 runs, while Akash Tripathi contributed 16 runs, the other batsmen could not reach double figures.
Freedon Dawdzai took three wickets for Afghanistan. Similarly, Khalil Ahmed and Nasir Khan took two wickets each. Ghazanfar and Arb Gul took one wicket each for Afghanistan.
Before that, Afghanistan won the toss and batted first, losing all the wickets in 40 overs and scored 145.
Ghazanfar scored the highest 37 runs for Afghanistan. Similarly, Nashir Khan added 31 runs while Freedon contributed 29 runs.
Akash Chand took the most five wickets for Nepal. He bowled 8 overs and spent 34 runs. Similarly, Dipesh Kadel took two wickets while Gulshan Jha, Subas Bhandari and Tilak Bhandari took one wicket each.
With this victory, Nepal has entered the Super Six of the World Cup.
