Agency – India has won the second consecutive victory in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. India defeated Ireland by a wide margin of 201 runs on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 302 runs, Ireland were bowled out for 100 runs in 29.4 overs. For India, Naman Tiwari took 4 wickets with 53 runs in 10 overs, Soumya Pandey took 3 wickets with 21 runs in 9 overs. Dhanush Gonda, Murugan Abhishek and captain Uday Sharan took 1 wicket each.
Before that, Ireland won the toss and invited India to bat. With the help of Musir Khan’s century and captain Uday’s half-century, India scored 301 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Batting at number three, Musir scored 118 runs off 106 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. Musir was chosen as the man of the match. Uday scored 75 runs in 84 balls with the help of 4 fours.
Opener Arshin Kulkarni scored 32, Araveli Avanish scored 22, Sachin Das scored 21, another opener scored 17 runs. Ireland’s Oliver Riley took 3 wickets, John McNally 2 and Finn Luton 1 wicket.
After defeating Bangladesh in the first match, India is at the top of Group A with 4 points. Bangladesh and Ireland have the same 2 points while America has no points.
