The system’s objectives are to assign points to teams based on their performance in the matches and establish each team’s position in the competition. The standard format consists of:
Win: Teams that win a game receive the most points possible, typically two.
Tie or No Result: Teams frequently share points, receiving one point apiece, in a tied game or in the absence of a result because of outside circumstances.

Format of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 Points Table
There were four groups (A, B, C, and D) with a total of sixteen teams. The top three clubs in each group advance to the Super Six round. During the placement round, the teams in fourth place from Groups A and D and Groups B and C will face off against one another.
In the super-six stage, the top three teams from Groups B and C will form one group, and the top three teams from Groups A and D will form another. Each team’s total points, wins, and NRR will be shared with the other six super-six qualifying teams.
In two super-six games, each team will play opponents from the group that finished lower in the group stage standings (for example, the A1 team will only play D2 and D3 in the super-six). Likewise, A2 will only take on D1 and D3, and so forth.
