Kathmandu – The Nepali cricket team has been announced for the Asia selection of T-20 World Cup. Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has selected 15-member players under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Paudel.
Leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has returned to the team. He did not play the tri-national match between Nepal, UAE and Hong Kong citing personal reasons. Coach Monty Desai has brought Vivek Yadav back to the team along with Sandeep. Experienced Vinod Bhandari is also included in the team. Other players are old faces.
Along with Rohit, Sandeep, Vinod and Vivek, the team consists of Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airi, Sandeep Zora, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Abhinash Bohra, Pratish JC, Lalit Rajvanshi.
The Asia Qualifier of the ICC Men’s World Cup will be held in Nepal from 13th October. The top two teams from the selection of 8 teams will qualify for next year’s T20 World Cup.
