By defeating Hong Kong on Thursday at the Mulpani International Cricket Ground, Nepal extended their T20I Triangular Series winning streak.
Nepal has won the T20I Triangular Series two times in a row.
After winning the toss, Nepal requested that Hong Kong bat first. Hong Kong’s captain, Nizakat Khan, was bowled by Karan KC with the first ball of the game. Anshuman Rath and Babar Hayat were sent back as KC proceeded to annihilate the Hong Kong batsmen, bringing their total to 14 for 4.
The Nepali bowlers continued to take wickets, keeping the Hong Kong batsmen from really getting underway. The score would have been different as Hong Kong would have been bowled out for 94 if Yasim Murtaza had not hit 36. In addition to the two wickets apiece that Sompal Kami and Abinash Bohora took, KC also claimed four wickets. Each of Kushal Malla and Mausam Dhakal claimed a wicket. Dhakal’s first T20I wicket was this one.
In response, Nepal easily defeated the total. While Rohit Paudel and Gulshan Jha completed the game with some spectacular hitting, delivering Nepal a four-wicket victory, Aasif Sheikh was outstanding with the bat, scoring a quick-fire 42.
On Saturday, Nepal will compete against Hong Kong.
