The Nepali national cricket team is set to conduct its final preparations for the ACC Asia Cup in Karachi, Pakistan. According to Sama News from Pakistan, the Nepali team will arrive in Karachi on August 5.
As per Sama News, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to arrange for practice sessions in Pakistan ahead of the Asia Cup. The PCB accepted this request, allowing Nepal to have practice matches in Karachi. Nepal will undergo training sessions in Karachi until September 9, practicing with local teams.
The Nepali team will travel to Multan on August 10. Nepal’s first match in the Asia Cup against Pakistan will take place in Multan on August 13.
Nepal, in Group A, will be playing its first-ever Asia Cup and will compete alongside India and Pakistan. Despite the political tensions between India and Pakistan, most of the matches of the Asia Cup are scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka.
For Nepal’s second match in the group stage, they will face Sri Lanka in Pakistan. In their second match, Nepal will play against India on September 4, which falls on September 18 according to the Nepali calendar.
The tournament features a total of 6 participating teams divided into 3 groups. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super Four stage.
