Nepal Telecom has announced the loss of recharge cards worth around 1 million Nepalese Rupees, with a face value of 50 Rupees each, in the Dharan region. The Wireless Service Directorate of Nepal Telecom in Babarmahal has informed about the loss of recharge cards for Namaste brand, meant for sending from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa.
The Directorate has issued a public notice today and requested the distributors or customers who come across these cards to report to the nearby Telecommunication Office. According to the Directorate, around 20,000 recharge cards with serial numbers from 1122120013780001 to 1122120013800000 have been lost. Even though these serial-numbered recharge cards will not be sold or used, the Directorate has made this request.
Spokesperson of Nepal Telecom, Shobhan Adhikari, informed that the loss of these recharge cards has been ongoing for almost two weeks through a transport company. The spokesperson said that the cards are useless as they have not been entered into Nepal Telecom’s computer system, and therefore, recharging mobile balance using these cards will not be possible. Cards that have been falsely sold or used can be reported and returned to the Telecommunication Office.
- “As these cards have not been entered into our system, they are equivalent to paper waste. So, customers should not be deceived by them,” said the spokesperson.
