Nepal faced defeat against Bloomfield Club from Sri Lanka in a domestic practice match ahead of the Asia Cup cricket tournament. Playing their first practice match in Sri Lanka, Nepal’s home team Bloomfield Club defeated them by 6 wickets while chasing Nepal’s target of 198 runs.
Bloomfield’s Hishita Boyagoda contributed the highest score of 90 runs. He scored 90 runs off 53 balls, including seven fours and seven sixes. In addition, Ashan Fernando made 56 runs off 54 balls with six fours and two sixes, and Sandun Weerakkody scored 31 runs.
For Nepal, Surya Tamang and Pratish GC both took two wickets each. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Nepal managed to score 197 runs, losing all their wickets in 43.4 overs.
Arjun Saud contributed the highest score of 79 runs for Nepal. He scored 79 runs off 113 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Similarly, Sandeep Jora made 31 runs, Dev Khadka scored 22 runs, Pratish GC contributed 16 runs, while Sompal Kami and Karan KC added 11 runs each. Pawan Sarraf scored 10 runs.
For Bloomfield Club, Malinda Perera, Dinesh Samarawickrama, Nimesh Tharunu, and Vininayakaele all took two wickets each. Next, Nepal will play their second practice match against Tamil Union on Friday.
