The Vancouver Knights, led by Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee, continued their appalling performance in the Global T20 League Canada 2024. They lost against the Brampton Wolves by six wickets, which was their fourth straight loss.
Vancouver chose to bat first and scored 149/4 in the 20 overs that were allowed. They were down 90/4 in the sixteenth over, but they rallied with runs from Richie Berrington and Asif Ali, who hit 38 and 36 off 17 balls, respectively. Sandeep and Dipendra were both denied a chance to bat.
Brampton responded by chasing the target for 18.1 overs. Although he cost a little money, Lamichhane only took one wicket. Airee, who was bowling for the first time in the event, was economical but did not receive any recognition.
With his opening ball, Lamichhane claimed a wicket and gave up just six runs in the over. Nevertheless, he lost 22 runs in his second over, including three sixes, which proved costly. With 11 runs in his last over, he finished with figures of 3-0-39-1.
With stats of 4-0-18-0, Airee gave up just one boundary in his four overs of bowling. After giving up just one run in the opening over, he allowed five runs in each of the next two overs and seven runs in the last over. He helped with one run out as well.
Vancouver Knights have lost four of their last four games, placing them at the bottom of the table. The next game they play is against the Surrey Jaguars.
