Canada advanced to the semi-finals of the Copa America after defeating Venezuela in a tiebreaker.
Canada entered the last four by winning 4-3 over Venezuela in the tiebreaker in the quarterfinals on Saturday morning. Venezuela was eliminated from the quarterfinals when Wilker Angel missed in the exciting tiebreaker.
In the 13th minute of the first half, Canada took the early lead with a goal by Jakov Sefalvarg. But in the 64th minute, Solomon Rondon’s goal got Venezuela back into the game.
After that, both teams failed to score and the match was pushed to a tiebreaker. Canada will now face Argentina in the semi-finals. The semi-final match will be held on Wednesday.Â
Colombia and Panama and Uruguay and Brazil will meet in the third quarter-final on Sunday morning.
