Moscow. The outer part of the space station is armored. This is the first time in the history of space science that this has been done.
Last week, an old Russian satellite exploded. Garbage began to flow towards Tiangang, China’s space station nearby. Before the garbage could enter the station, China put armor around the station. This work was done by two astronauts of China’s Shenzhou-18 mission.
To ensure that the wires and pipelines of the space station remain safe, both Chinese astronauts wore protective shields around them after a six-and-a-half-hour space walk.
According to the US Space Command, on June 26, Russia’s obsolete Earth observation satellite Resource-P1 exploded. The satellite was broken into more than 100 pieces. The satellite was tracked.
After the satellite exploded, six American astronauts on the space station informed NASA about it. It is not known whether they told the Chinese astronauts in the space station or not. But the Chinese astronauts found out from somewhere and immediately started to install armor on the necessary parts outside the Chinese space station.
