Kathmandu. Supporters of Portugal’s star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo have attacked various social media accounts of BBC Sports. After Ronaldo missed a penalty in the Euro Cup 2024 match against Slovenia on Monday night, BBC Sports wrote ‘Mistiano Penaldo’, and fans were excited on social media.
Now the three supporters have started a campaign to unfollow the BBC Sports Instagram account and Facebook page. Commenting on various posts by BBC Sports, Ronaldo’s fans have requested to unfollow that account.
During the match analysis of the knockout game, when the video was replayed, the supporters alleged that ‘Mistiano Painaldo’ was written at the bottom of it. After that, former Chelsea captain John Terry posted a story on Instagram and wrote to the BBC, ‘This is an insult’. Then Ronaldo’s supporters attacked BBC Sports.
If you look at the Facebook page and Instagram account of BBC Sports now, supporters have started a boycott campaign by objecting to most of the posts posted there. BBC Sports is also being criticized on social media X.
