WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been released from British prison. Assange was released after a deal with the US administration.
WikiLeaks said on Tuesday morning that Julian Assange was released from prison and left for his country. According to WikiLeaks, he was released on bail from a court in London, UK.
According to the news agency AFP, Assange was released on Monday night after pleading guilty to the charge of leaking secret US documents. It is mentioned in the news that he has made an agreement with the US Department of Justice that he will accept his mistake and not have to stay in US prison.
According to the court letter, he will return to Australia. “Julian Assange is free,” WikiLeaks posted on social media platform X. After 1,901 days of imprisonment, he walked out of Belmarsh Prison on the morning of 24 June. He was granted bail by the London High Court and left the UK after being released at Stansted Airport.
