Kathmandu. The semen of Murra Ranga, which was brought for breed improvement in animal husbandry, will be distributed to the farmers from next July. From next July, more than 600,000 doses of semen will be made available to the farmers from Murra Ranga brought from India, bulls brought from America and Korea.
According to Dr. Jagdish Pandey, Head of National Animal Breeding Office and Animal Development Officer in Pokhara, 640,000 doses of semen have been produced. Today’s collection is historic. “We have collected the most semen since the establishment,” he said.
6 lakh 13 thousand doses of semen were collected last year, so far this year 6 lakh 40 thousand doses of semen have been collected. He said that the revenue of 25 rupees should be paid to the government for 1 dose of semen. Farmers have to pay a revenue of Rs 25 when they go to the government center for artificial insemination of cattle.
