Kathmandu. The American Embassy in Nepal has made it clear that it cannot comment on the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane as visa related records are confidential according to American law.

The embassy responded after it was announced that Lamichhane’s visa application for the T20 Cricket World Cup was rejected.

It is mentioned in the response of the embassy on Wednesday that they are very excited about the participation of the Nepalese team in the T-20 World Cup held in America.

According to the embassy, some officials of the embassy met with the team a few weeks ago to appreciate and encourage the team before departure.

The embassy also said that the US Embassy in Kathmandu and other US consular posts around the world have worked together to ensure that members of the national cricket teams who qualify for the appropriate visa category are able to travel to the US in time to compete in the World Cup.
