Kathmandu – Brandon King has been appointed the interim captain of West Indies for the three-match T20 international cricket series with South Africa.
After regular captain Rovman Powell is not available, Brandon King will captain West Indies in the home series against South Africa. While the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket is going on, Powell and other West Indies players are in India. Rovman Powell is playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024.
The three-match T-20 series will start from next Thursday. Similarly, the second match will be held on Saturday and the third match will be held on Sunday. All three games are scheduled to be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica. This series is important for both the teams to prepare for the T-20 Cricket World Cup starting from 2nd June.
The West Indies squad includes Brandon King, Roston Chase, Alec Athanji, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeel Hossain, Shamar Joseph, Cale Meyers, Obed McCoy, Gudakesh Motti, Romario Shepherd and Hayden Walsh.
