The popular singer Samikshya Adhikari’s elder sister Sharmila Adhikari has spoken out for the first time regarding the cancellation of her sister’s visa to Australia.
In a public statement shared on social media today she has revealed her side of the story. She expressed her views on society’s criticism and behavior towards her and mentioned that she feels misunderstood by the public.
She explained her situation stating that she is being falsely accused and criticized and that her reputation has been tarnished without giving her a chance to defend herself. She compared her current situation to a state of withering flowers and criticized how people treat others.
Sharmila further mentioned that she is facing unwarranted behavior akin to treating a human as a demon and that she has faced this kind of behavior since she was alive. She encouraged people to have the courage to stand up against the harshness of life and not to judge anyone without proper understanding.
Samikshya states that Sharmila went to Australia as an artist.
This is her complete status: “In a world where people hide their faces and cry silently all night, who sees and understands? Why does a drop of tear appear bitter even if it is shed after consuming poison? Why is this society so cruel that it makes someone like me, who is trying to survive in this difficult world, look like a criminal? This world is hard to live in. How long does one have to burn? How long does one have to suffer? This innocent eye, this innocent ear, these eyes that have never seen nor heard, and the voice that fights battles. ‘Why does this society criticize the best ones who lift up the veil of injustice and make them look like they are no better than the unseen and unheard? I have become accustomed to being treated like a demon instead of a human being. I’m not expecting justice after death. God, fulfill the desire of my heart to reject the life that has been scorched. Good advice, give suggestions, and don’t think ill of anyone.”
