Kathmandu: Nepal has won the final match of the group stage under the Nepal ACC Premier Cup. Nepal won by defeating Maldives by 214 runs in the match at Selangor Turf Club in Malaysia.
Maldives were all out after scoring 13 runs in 13.5 overs. For Nepal, Amina Akharay took 4 wickets, Pooja Mahatto and Ruveena Chhetri took 3 wickets each. Maldives players could not reach double figures.
Before that, Ruveena Chhetri has hit a brilliant satak in the match against Maldives. Chhetri along with Satak, Nepal presented a huge target of 228 runs against Maldives. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Nepal lost 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored a total of 227 runs.
Chhetri remained unbeaten with 118 runs off 59 balls. She contributed 118 runs off 59 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Along with this, Ruveena Chhetri also became the first woman player to score a century for Nepal.
Similarly, Pooja Mahato, who partnered with Chhetri, scored a half-century. She remained unbeaten with 59 runs off 36 balls with 1 six and 5 fours. This is the highest total made by Nepal’s women’s team in international cricket.
Before this, Nepal defeated Hong Kong and Bhutan.
