Kathmandu. Nepal lost to Tanzania in the four-nation women’s T20 cricket series in Hong Kong. Chasing the target of 116 runs, he lost all the wickets and scored only 88 runs.
After winning the toss, Tanzania decided to bat first at the Hong Kong Cricket Club ground in Hong Kong. At the end of 20 overs, Tanzania scored 115 runs while losing 7 wickets, Nepal lost all the wickets without playing the entire over.
Sita Ranamar scored the highest 43 runs for Nepal. Sita faced 31 balls and contributed 43 runs with the help of 4 sixes. Apart from captain Indru Verma scoring 15 runs, other batsmen could not score runs in double figures. Sophia Jerome of Tanzania took the most 3 wickets to cover Nepal cheaply.
The Nepali team consists of captain Indu Burma, vice-captain Bindu Rawal, Ruveena Chhetri, Sita Ranamgar, Asmina Karmacharya, Kajol Shrestha, Kanchan Shrestha, Khushi Dangol, Sangeeta Rai, Soni Pakhrin, Somu Bishta, Pooja Mahato, Roma Thapa and Yadhan Khadka.
Indu Burma has been selected as the new captain by Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) in place of captain Rubina Chhetri.
Chhetri has been captaining for 11 years.
Nepal will play the second match against Hong Kong on November 30 and the last match of the group stage against Japan on November 2. The top two teams will play for the title.
