Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is going to visit Nepal on October 26 while the political parties are trying to put an end to the conflict issue. Secretary General Guterres, who is coming to Kathmandu on the invitation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, will go to China from here on the 29th.
During his stay in Nepal, Secretary General Guterres is scheduled to meet President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister Dahal, leaders of political parties, according to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to sources, Secretary General Guterres will also meet with the victims of the conflict and preparations are being made for that. Even the peace process has not been completed due to confusion over the issue of transitional justice. The Government has introduced the Transitional Justice Bill (TRC Bill) in the House of Representatives to address the issue of transitional justice.
However, due to disagreements between the parties, the bill has been stalled. Prime Minister Dahal met Secretary General Guterres and invited him to visit Nepal in the first week of October when he arrived in New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
Secretary General Guterres will arrive in Kathmandu on Friday afternoon, October 26. Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have said that he is scheduled to leave China on Monday, October 29, by a China Airlines ship.
