Sandeep Lamichhane, a cricket player accused of rape, will go to Pakistan on Monday to join his team for the 2023 Asia Cup.
The 17-year-old kid was allegedly raped in August of last year, according to the 23-year-old Nepali spinner.
According to the court, the hearing at Kathmandu District Court that was supposed to take place on Sunday has been postponed till September 7.
At 11:20 on Monday, Sandeep would board Qatar Airlines for Multan, according to Durga Raj Pathak, interim secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal.
On Wednesday, Lamichhane’s colleagues arrived in Pakistan.
Prior to facing India on September 4, Nepal is slated to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup’s opening game on Wednesday.
Lamichhane was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport in October but later released on bail after losing his position as national captain as a result of an arrest warrant.
In order to compete in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Lamichhane had also traveled to Zimbabwe.
The six-team 50-over competition is being co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will host four matches, while Sri Lanka will host the remaining nine, including the championship game.
In Group A, Nepal is paired with Pakistan and India. Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
