The bodies of at least 29 leaders of Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League and its allies and their family members have been found in Bangladesh. According to media reports, there are 20 Awami League leaders in it.
Similarly, according to the Dhaka Tribune, at least 50 policemen have been killed so far. Except in Dhaka, most of the police stations in the country have been burnt and the policemen have left the station and fled.
All the policemen fled for their lives. According to media reports, many senior police officers associated with the Awami League are hiding with their relatives.
The report mentions that more than 400 police stations across the country have been attacked, vandalized, arson and looted. In the last 15 days, billions of dollars have been lost due to the violent protests in Bangladesh.
A luxurious hotel of Awami League leader in Joshore, Bangladesh has been set on fire. 29 people were burnt alive in it. In which one person from Indonesia is also included.
A 140-year-old house of famous Bengali singer Rahul Anand has been set on fire in Dhaka’s Dhanmandi. His house was also looted before it was burnt down.
Anand, his wife and son reportedly managed to escape the attack. 3,000 musical instruments kept in Rahul’s house were destroyed in the fire.
Similarly, Bangladeshi actor Shanto Khan and his producer father Salim Khan were beaten to death by the mob. Salim was associated with Hasina’s party Awami League. He produced a film based on Hasina’s father Mujeeb-ur-Rehman. According to the Dhaka Tribune report, he was running away from home on Monday. He was surrounded by a crowd in the Farakkabad market. They then opened fire and saved themselves but were later surrounded. Shanto Khan worked in Bengali films like ‘Babujan’, ‘Tungipara Mia Bhai’ and ‘Bixov’. A case was going on against him on charges of acquiring wealth.

Similarly, people set fire to the house of Awami League leader Suman Khan in Lalmonirhat. Six dead bodies were found in his house. Awami League’s ally Juba League leader Mushfiqur Rahim’s body has been found under a bridge in Sonagaji upazila. He was a secretary in the youth league. The body of another youth leader, Badshah Mian, was found in Feni district this morning.
Meanwhile, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has been appointed as the head of the interim government of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina, who left the country after resigning as Prime Minister on Monday, is now staying in India. It is said that the US has rejected his visa and he has sought asylum in the UK and the process is underway.
