The Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal has made Neymar’s transfer to them public. The club announced on Wednesday that they have signed their star from the French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The Brazilian 31-year-old forward has agreed to a €90 million deal between PSG and Al Hilal. Neymar will earn over €160 million during the 2-year contract with Al Hilal.
In the video shared by Al Hilal, Neymar stated, “I am in Saudi Arabia, I am a Hilal player. I have achieved a lot in Europe and spent special times there. But I always wanted to become a global player. I am here to face new challenges and opportunities. I want to write a new history in football.”
Neymar was initially transferred to PSG from Barcelona for a world-record fee of €222 million in 2017.
During his time with PSG, Neymar played 173 games for the club and won 13 titles, including 5 league titles. Despite reaching the Champions League final in 2020, he was limited to the runner-up position.
Neymar’s previous stint with Barcelona ended in March when he suffered an injury. He started training only in July.
He was also absent from Brazil’s side in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers due to injuries. He had to leave the field after an injury and could not play Copa America in 2019. He was also sidelined for a few weeks from the field due to injuries in 2021.
