Ravi Lamichhane, the President of the National Independent Party, has stated that he cannot be involved in smuggling gold without any evidence.
During a conversation with journalists in Biratnagar, President Lamichhane said, “It is not possible to be involved in gold smuggling or any illegal activities. But investigations need to be carried out to determine which label or method is used.”
As the investigation into the gold seizure case is ongoing, he refrained from making further comments. He also mentioned that it would not be appropriate for him to demand the resignation of the Home Minister without conducting an investigation.
Regarding others demanding resignations, he emphasized that the National Independent Party does not ask for resignations hastily and waits for evidence to emerge. If the truth is revealed and there are any wrongdoings, they will raise their voice accordingly.
He said, “Whatever others do, the National Independent Party does not act hastily. We exercise patience and only speak up when we have a clear understanding of the reality. We discuss matters in the parliament based on the evidence we gather.”
