Kathmandu. The Nepali women’s beach volleyball team has entered the finals of the ongoing Kava Beach Volleyball Championship in Bhutan.
In the semi-final held on Saturday morning, Nepal easily defeated Uzbekistan 2-0 and came close to the title.
The pair of Manisha Chaudhary and Kamala Pun defeated Uzbekistan 21-13, 21-12.
The Nepali team reached the semi-finals by winning all three games played in the group stage.
Nepal’s men’s team is also playing the semi-finals today. The duo of Man Bahadur Shrestha and Dil Sunar will play against Maldives in the semi-finals.
The semi-final and final matches of the tournament will also be held today. 10 men’s and 7 women’s teams are participating in the competition.
Two years ago, in the AVC Central Zone Beach Volleyball Tournament held in Bangladesh, both the men’s and women’s teams of Nepal won silver medals.
