The Copa America quarterfinals are starting on Friday. In the first quarter-final match, former champion Argentina is competing with Ecuador, which is considered relatively weak. He has also been runner-up 14 times. Argentina won the Copa America for the first time in 1921 and for the last time in 2021. Ecuador has not advanced beyond the semi-finals of the Copa-America so far.
A total of 40 matches have been played between these two old South American rivals so far. In which Argentina beat Ecuador in 24 matches, while Ecuador has beaten Argentina in only five matches so far. The remaining 11 matches ended in a draw. The last meeting between these two teams was on June 9, 2024. Argentina won that match 1-0.
