Kathmandu – Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has announced to leave the captaincy of all 3 formats.
After losing 4 out of 9 matches in the ICC ODI World Cup in India and getting out of the competition, Babar has announced to quit the captaincy. He has given this information through social media.
Babar captained the Pakistan team since 2019 and took tally to the top spot in the ICC rankings in limited overs cricket. But in the World Cup, after they were eliminated from the group stage, they were not considered. Babar scored 320 runs in 9 matches.
Even though Babar has left the captaincy of the team, he has also said that he will play in all 3 formats as a player. He also thanked the cricket supporters and Pakistan Cricket Board for these 4 years.
