Washington: The White House said on Monday that the allegations made by Hasina against the United States, stating that it had no involvement in the ousting of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, are false.
In response to a question about the allegations of US interference in Hasina’s deportation, White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre clarified that the US had no involvement.
Stating that the political change of Bangladesh is the choice of the Bangladeshi people, he said that the United States is on the side that the Bangladeshi people should be able to form and dissolve their own government.
Hasina’s son and former government adviser Sajib Wazed Joy alleged that an unknown foreign power was supporting the protests in Bangladesh. However, he did not submit any evidence.
In May, Hasina accused foreign powers of conspiring against her after she refused permission to the Bangladesh government to build a military airport (airbase).
The United States generally has friendly relations with Bangladesh. However, in the current situation, it seems that there is a series of recriminations between Bangladesh and America.
After the ouster of Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is currently the head of the interim government.
