– Bhanubhakta Acharya
It has been eight years since the reconstruction of Bhanugriha at Chundiramgha Shikharkateri, the birthplace of the original poet of Nepali language, Bhanubhakta Acharya. The foundation stone was also laid on 22 Chait 2073 for the reconstruction of Bhanu Griha in Shikharkateri, Bhanu Municipality-4. But even after eight years, the work was limited to foundation laying.
While the matter of rebuilding Bhanugriha is limited to discussion, now there is hope that the work will go ahead. The unfinished work of the Bhanrigriha, which was laid the foundation stone by the Western Regional Development Forum, will continue with the activities of the platform itself.
Shankar Ranabhat, executive director of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Birthplace Development Committee, said that the reconstruction work of Bhanu Griha is in progress. He said that the blueprint of Bhanugriha has been prepared and now preparations are being made to call for tenders. Executive Director Ranabhat said, “Bhanugriha could not be reconstructed for a long time due to various reasons. In the meantime, we had many discussions, now we are confident that the work will take a solid pace.”
The cost of Bhanugriha is around one million ten million. Bikash Manch is going to build a greenhouse with its own investment. For that, a construction committee has been formed under the coordination of the former president of the platform, Ramkaji Kone.
After the development platform delayed the work, the development committee started preparing to build the house on its own initiative. However, he said that since the development platform will build the houses, the necessary support will be provided by the committee.
The Development Committee is also installing wire fences and CC cameras in Shikharkateri. Ramayana building has been constructed at this place. Being in the middle of the forest, the Ramayana building has become unprotected. Executive Director Ranabhat says that he is hopeful that the place will develop further after the work of Bhanugriha has started.
Before this, the work of Bhanugriha could not go ahead due to the problems of unpaved road, water and electricity etc. It is believed that the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists will increase after the reconstruction of Bhanubhakta’s house.
“There are grand programs in the country and abroad in the name of the great poet Bhanubhakta, but we also feel that Bhanubhakta has been neglected in his home district,” he said, “If the house can be rebuilt, we believe that many people will come here.”
In the year 2057, with the help of Bhanu Birthplace Development Committee, Yadav Kharel rebuilt the house of Bhanubhakta at a cost of one lakh to make a movie called ‘Adikavi Bhanubhakta’. A fire broke out in a thatched roof house in the forest in June 2061, causing a loss of Rs.127,000.
Acharya was born on 29th June 1871 in Bhanu Municipality-4 Chundiramgha and died on 6th October 1925. Bhanubhakta Valmiki, who is known as a representative poet of the primary period of Nepali literature, is famous as a translator of Ramayana. Bhanubhakta has written works such as ‘Prashnottar’, Bhaktamala, Badhusiksha and others. He became known in Nepali literature after Motiram Bhatt collected his manuscripts and published them in Pustakakar.
