New Delhi. In the Indian state of Bihar , there have been reports of bridges collapsing one after the other for the past few days . In the last 17 days, 12 bridges have collapsed in Bihar. The collapse of the bridge there started on June 18. After this, the bridge is collapsing due to torrential rains and floods.

After these incidents, the state government has suspended 11 engineers. The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government has ordered the reconstruction of the bridge or the construction of a new bridge. Among the bridges that collapsed in recent days, 6 bridges were very old. Three other bridges were under construction. Engineers and contractors have been blamed for the collapse of the under-construction bridge. 11 engineers in various positions have been suspended for not being careful about the construction of the bridge and not monitoring it properly.

On June 18, the bridge under construction at Araria over the Bakhara river collapsed. Since then, two other under-construction bridges have also collapsed. Four engineers have been suspended in this matter. Two engineers have already been suspended and the payment of the contractor has been stopped until the investigation is completed. After the inspection team submits the final report, it is said that the final action will be taken against the contractor and consultant. There are 214 bridge collapses across India in the last 10 years.
