Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has urged the unpaid consuls working in Nepal to engage in the work of introducing prosperity and technology to the world through economic diplomacy.
Addressing the 17th Annual General Meeting and ‘Charter Day‘ ceremony of Honorary Consul, Corpus Nepal, an organization of unpaid consuls working in Nepal, Minister Dr. Rana said, ‘They are connected with so many countries, it is a matter of happiness for Nepal as well. I urge you to bring the prosperity, technology and knowledge of those countries to Nepal and bring in investment from those countries to Nepal.’
Minister Dr. Rana requested that Nepal’s culture, tourism and heritages are extraordinary and unique in the world and that they should be promoted and brought to the world level. In addition, she urged Nepal to convey the message of commitment to peace, human rights and democracy to the world.
Minister Dr. Rana emphasized that Nepal has a unique identity in the world and as our traditions and heritages are the center of attraction for the tourists of the world, the consuls connected with so many countries of the world should work for the promotion of the tourism sector in Nepal. She emphasized that since Nepal has now entered political stability, it should also go for foreign and domestic investments.
Minister Dr. Rana said, ‘I think many things are affected due to political instability. Now the country’s two biggest political parties, Nepali Congress and UML, have formed a government together, and an environment of political stability has been created in the country. Therefore, I urge them to invest confidently and to get more and more foreign investment into Nepal.’
She recalled that there were big and important political changes in the country from time to time when these two big parties came together in Nepal, and she assured that political stability and prosperity will come from the joint government of these parties. This organization of unpaid consuls of 62 countries working in Nepal has today elected Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of Federation of Nepalese Industry and Commerce, and Bholavikram Thapa as new deans.
The previous dean Vishnu Aggarwal handed over the post to Dhakal. Dhakal is the unpaid consul of Indonesia for Nepal. On that occasion, Dean Dhakal said that they are connecting the country with the world community economically and culturally.
