Ever since China launched its space station in space, new ‘activities’ of its scientists have come to light. There was a time when the US and other countries did not allow China to be part of the International Space Station, and China has built and maintains the space station itself.
In the latest video, a Chinese astronaut can be seen hanging above the Earth. This footage is shocking. According to reports, this incident took place during a spacewalk at the Tiangong Space Station in China. Spacewalks are usually performed when the space station’s external equipment needs to be repaired. Astronauts get out in their spacesuits and spacewalk for several hours.
During one such spacewalk, a Chinese astronaut can be seen hanging above the Earth. The video footage was recorded by a camera attached to the space station’s robotic arm. China’s Shenzhou 18 Mission is currently present at Tiangong Station. It was launched for Tiangong in April. The scientists associated with it had a spacewalk of eight and a half hours which is a record.
Astronauts Ye Guangfu and Li Guangxu worked for 8.5 hours outside the Tiangong space station on May 28. No Chinese astronaut has ever made such a long spacewalk before. Ye and Lee set up a device to protect the space station from space debris. Its name is Space Debris Protection Device. Astronauts also checked other instruments present there.
China’s space station is at an altitude of 340 to 450 km above the Earth. In 2021, for the first time, a team of astronauts reached the Tiangong space station and spent 90 days there. At that time only the first part of the space station was completed. The second and third units of the space station were launched last year and this year.
