Actress Manisha Koirala recently met British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and invited him to trek to Everest Base Camp.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship between Nepal and Britain in 1923, Prime Minister Sunak organised a function inviting the Nepali community at the British Prime Minister’s Office at 10 Downing, London, on Monday evening.

Actress Koirala also attended the event. She shared a series of pictures from the event on Instagram on Wednesday, highlighting the celebration of ‘100 years of the friendship treaty’ between Nepal and the UK.

In her post, she wrote, “It was an honour to be invited to 10 Downing Street to celebrate the occasion. It was such a pleasure to hear Prime Minister Rishi Sunak speak fondly of our country Nepal.”

She also mentioned inviting the Prime Minister and his family to trek to Everest Base Camp.

Koirala noted her amazement that most of the attendees had watched and loved her new web series, ‘Heeramandi’, on Netflix. She expressed her thrill in her caption, “Can you believe that most of the attendees had seen ‘Heeramandi’ on Netflix and loved it? I was thrilled!!”

At the event, Koirala wore a black and golden saree and was photographed in several candid shots with Rishi Sunak.

After many ups and downs, including a battle with cancer, actress Koirala has risen to the limelight once again with her graceful acting in the popular web series ‘Heeramandi’. She is currently enjoying immense success and has received widespread love and praise for her meticulous acting in the series.

‘Heeramandi’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a period drama based on the pre-partition lives of courtesans in Lahore. The series features a star-studded cast, including Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in lead roles.

Koirala was a leading Bollywood actress in the 90s. She made her acting debut in the Nepali film ‘Pheri Bhetaula’ in 1989 and entered Bollywood with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Saudagar in 1991, which was a commercial success.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of the most successful and acclaimed film directors, made his directorial debut with ‘Khamoshi’ in 1996, starring Koirala in the lead role.

Now, Bhansali has made his OTT debut with the web series ‘Heeramandi’ , once again featuring Koirala in one of the lead roles.
