Senior artist Prakash Ghimire is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.
Relatives said that it is difficult for him to bear the pain of the injuries on his body.
According to Ghimire’s brother Sadhang Ghimire, Prakash, who is in a semi-conscious state, occasionally makes noises, but cannot communicate.‘Sometimes, Ayyya, you make a sound saying that it hurts. But it is not possible to have a double conversation,’ said Sadhang to Setopati, ‘it seems that the pain of the injury on the body is unbearable.’
Prakash, a permanent resident of Pokhara-3 Nadipur, went for a morning walk early on Friday with his friend Prem Sherchan and singer Vinod Bania. On his return, he said that he had called a visiting doctor to artificially inseminate the cow.
After receiving the phone call, he went home,’ Sherchan said, ‘He came to our house to cut the grass after finishing the work.’
Prakash reached near Sherchan’s house and started cutting grass. Sherchan had already cut some branches of grass before Prakash came. Sherchan said Prakash fell while cutting grass while holding on to the block wall near his house.‘Blocks were installed only to fill the empty space on the wall. He was cutting grass with his right hand while holding the block with his left hand when the wall collapsed and he fell down,’ said Sherchan.
According to Sherchan, Prakash fell about 50 meters from the lookout into the bushes. At that time, Sherchan was feeding the chickens.
According to the hospital, Prakash suffered a head injury. The rib of the chest was broken and touched the lung.
The family said that preparations are being made to take him to Kathmandu on Saturday for further treatment. Prakash, who started his acting journey with plays, has acted in more than three dozen plays so far.
He entered the film industry around the year 2061 by acting in the teleserial ‘Dalan‘ directed by director Naveen Subba. He has acted in dozens of films including ‘Talkjung vs. Tulke’, ‘Pashupati Prasad’, ‘Funko’, ‘Jatra’, ‘Panchebaja’, ‘Paniphoto’. Prakash starrer ‘Pashupati Prasad 2: Bhashme Don’ is now showing. Prakash, who taught for 37 years at Kanya Mavi in Nadipur, became active in the acting field after retiring in 2075.
