However, the scene on Friday morning was different.

Instead of leaving the country, the youth/students were filled with tears for being able to step on the soil of the country. With tears of joy, he breathed that he survived. And, at the international airport, the slogan rang out – ‘Jai Nepal Ammi.’

Surviving Hamas Attack: Nepali Students Return Home from Israel

Not only the students, but also their relatives were in tears when they stepped into the motherland, avoiding the bombs, ammunition and bullets thrown by the Hamas group. Some were shouting with joy, some were screaming. Some were wrapped in their parents’ arms. Some were trying to forget the horrific scene of the attack by hugging their relatives. Himshwata Bhatt, who returned from Israel, said, “I said my country will be my own.”

“The bullet fell before the eyes”

Since early Saturday morning, the Hamas group has started firing missiles at Israel’s Gaza Strip. The sky was darkened by gunpowder. Then the Nepali students went to hide in the bunker. Dhan Bahadur Chaudhary of Kailali was hurled a grenade at the hidden bunker. Two fell. Many of his friends were injured. He was injured in the leg by a pellet of granite. After treatment, he returned home in a wheelchair.

He was lucky enough to survive when his companion was shot dead. His brother Surendra Chaudhary had reached the airport to pick him up from Israel. He was wounded in an attack by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the epicenter of the war. He could not describe the joy of returning home after winning the war.

Even in his dreams, he screams for fear of attacks by Hamas. The sweet words of friends who never returned home keep calling him. No sleep. Wounds of war burn. Sometimes I would cry at the airport saying ‘Aiyan’ and sometimes I would talk to the media to save my friends. Although the name is Dhan Bahadur, the family is suffering from poverty. He went to Israel a month ago with the dream of earning some money and learning. However, his dream was shattered. He does not want to remember the pain of war. However, the memory of a friend who has passed away makes the wound in the heart stronger.

It was Saturday. The sound of missiles started coming from the sky,” Dhan Bahadur says, narrating the pain of the war, “We ran away from the bed we were sleeping in and ran inside the bunker. Two hours later, Hamas terrorists attacked the bunker. Two of our friends were gunned down in the bunker. I was injured.’ The terrorist did not leave. Again lobbed grenades into the bunker from outside. burst out Stating that he was unconscious this time, he added, “I don’t know what happened after that.” When he opened his eyes, no friend had legs. Blood was flowing profusely from someone’s body. Friends were pleading with him saying ‘Save, save’. However, he cried that he could not do anything because he himself was injured. I couldn’t do anything. After a while, 2-3 Israeli policemen from the health sector came. Left me in that bunker. They took the friends who were safe and kept them in another bunker,” he sighed, saying, “Terrorists attacked that bunker again. Friends disintegrating before my eyes Lost his life.

He says that the rescue of other Nepalis in Israel should not be delayed. I had to bring the body of a friend who lost his life. The government had to search for the missing friend’ says Dhan Bahadur, ‘I miss my friends a lot. I remember their speech. I can’t sleep well at night. Telling that he only sees friends in his dreams, he adds, “I only see rivers of blood flowing from the bodies of friends who left us in the bunker.” Someone is coming to kill them by throwing grenades.

Pramod bowed down to death

Missiles hitting Israeli skies is nothing new. However, this time a missile was shot in the sky and a grenade was thrown from the ground into the bunker and fired. Pramod KC, a student who managed to save his life from the Hamas attack, says, “The bullet went right in front of his head.” God was right and I survived by luck.’

They were worried that the terrorists would attack the ship that was going to arrive on Friday. When he crossed the borders of Israel he realized that he had only survived. He has survived and returned home when his friend was killed in the war. In front of his eyes, one friend after another died in the war. However, he survived by luck. “During the attack on the bunker, two friends with me collapsed. And five friends were injured,” he says. “The police rescued us and took us to another bunker. All friends were sitting. There were also friends from Thailand.

Again, there was an attack by terrorists and said, “I was lucky.” God is right. I headed for the kitchen rack. A friend was sitting towards the cooking stand. He and I managed to survive. Five friends fell there with bullets and grits. His eyes filled with tears when he told the story of suffering in Israel. Speech interrupted frequently. He said, “Sinners attacked directly.”

They lived in a place called Qibul Alamik. Hamas took control of the place and continued shelling. According to Pramod, it took 12 hours for the Israeli police to enter “that place”. It was only then that the police started defending with Hamas. Only then did the police rescue them and take them to the hospital to treat their injured friends. The friends who were breathing were taken to the hospital by the police. They took us to another bunker and kept us safe,” he said that they were not safe there either. On the other hand, the police were using all their power to defend themselves. We were pleading from the middle of that battlefield.

Bombs, ammunition and bullets were falling on the ground from around Pramod’s body. “Ammo and bullets were falling on the ground in front of my eyes,” he says, “the bullets were going from that side.” would fall But I survived.’ This had increased psychological panic in them. He remembers those days and says, ‘We were under a lot of mental stress because of this. Now we die. You don’t go home alive. We didn’t take a single photo and video for 40 hours. Afraid that we will die. Even though the government rescued them, the bodies of the deceased friends were still there, so the government immediately removed the bodies and arranged a cremation environment for the family members, he requested the government.

Almost everywhere in Israel has a bunker. The sign is connected. First of all, it informs the visitors about safety. They are taught to ‘hide in the bunker when the siren goes off’. War victim Pramod says, ‘But the siren did not sound on the day of the attack. However, the sound of Bhututu bullets and missiles were heard in the sky. The reason – Hamas group started the attack by hacking the communication of the police headquarters, he said. Saturday was a public holiday in Israel. 80 percent of the Israeli police there were on leave. At that time, there was an attack,” he said, “First there was an attack from above. However, this year there was an attack from airfire and ground at the same time. By surprising Israel, Hamas attacked in a new way from two sides this time.

18 people survived by hiding in one bunker

Shobha Paswan from Golbazar in Siraha studied hard. It was a big deal for him that he completed his bachelor’s degree from the Dalit community. She came to Israel a month ago after studying at the Rampur campus in Chitwan under the Sik and Kamau program.

Coincidentally, she used to work in an agricultural firm in Gaza area. The attack took place in that area. The war had put him in a terrible state. Four days were very difficult. She hid in the bunker. Difficulty breathing. They hid 18 in that bunker, which could barely accommodate four people. In hopes of saving lives. Hungry, thirsty and scared. Shobha, who lost her friend who studied and worked with her, survived with great difficulty in her home country
She has taken

What to do after the bomb? If terrorists come, where will they go? We didn’t know. I lived in a very scary situation,” she said about the life of the war. The Israeli people did not think about the attacks by the terrorist group Hamas. She says, “Even the people there did not think like this. The attack by Hamas was new and different for the people there. What is that for us? what is It was natural to be.
She had gone out for yoga in the morning on the day of the attack. Everyone had a day off because it was Saturday. “So many missiles came from above, that almost 20-30 in one second,” says the war victim Shobha.

After three days in the bunker, their food supply ran out. There was no water. “Now we have lost our love for survivors,” she says. But, she is saddened by the pain of losing a friend who studied and worked with her. The pain of losing a friend made life cry.

“I felt like I had won the world”

Dinesh Sharma, who went to Israel from Kohlpur in Banke, became terrified after the war broke out there. After many attempts, he was shocked when he was able to come to Nepal. He could not express the joy of finding peace and security in his war-torn life. Sisters Maya Sharma and Dhurav Koirala wrapped her in their loving arms. They felt that it was God’s hand to get Dinesh safe again.

Dinesh had never seen war up close in his life. Neither saw the bomb and missile blast. His first encounter with war was when he went to Israel to study and earn. He felt that this is the end of life. He had lost hope. Because many people died in the attacks of Hamas. I thought we should return home. Let’s meet the family. There was hope to live. The government sent us home after working so hard. I am happy’, he told me that he was happy that the world felt victorious when he came back from the war in the middle of the night.

Naveen’s happiness was taken away there

Navin Bam Thakuri, who went to Israel from Calicut to earn and learn, went with the dream of bringing happiness to his family. However, he had to flee from there overnight to save his life. The reason—Hamas has started a war there. After earning from there, he tried to bring happiness to his parents’ faces. However, that was not possible.

I wish I could change my father’s old hood. He wanted to change his mother’s choli and saree, but he couldn’t. It was difficult to return home safely from there. He thanked the government for saving their lives even though it was late. The events of the war caused the most pain in the family. Navin Bam Thakuri, who went to Israel from Calicut, says that families should not be tortured during war.

The family suffered more than us. Only those who are experiencing the truth know the truth,” he said. “Students of Far West University suffered more than us in Gaza. Friends lost their lives there. The government should not send its people there until the war there calms down. According to him, internship students should not be sent to Israel immediately. Because there is no safe. Frequently there is a background of stabbing. He says, “If Nepal wants to sell skilled manpower, it should be sent to another country or place.”
