Commercial paragliding has started for the first time in Sindhuli. Paragliding operations have been regularly conducted since the 22nd of Saun (August). The first successful test flight was conducted on the 12th of Baisakh (April).
The company’s director, Netra Jung Thapa, stated that the company invested two million rupees to operate commercial paragliding in Kamalamai Municipality-6, near Laxman Chowk.
The company has received permission from the Civil Aviation Authority to conduct up to five paragliding flights simultaneously. Pilots Dil Kumar Sunuwar, Vikram Sunuwar, and Shankar Thapa will be flying.
The cost for paragliding is set at 5,000 rupees per person, including photos and videos of the paragliding experience. Local residents of the district will receive a discount of one thousand rupees for a month.
The companys director Thapa mentioned that the fee includes services from flying over the photo and video coverage of paragliding from Sindhulimadhi Bazaar to the landing station and also from the landing station to Prayas Hotel.
For the landing stations, Jersey Damara, Ratamata, and Khulamancha have been prepared. The take-off site for paragliding is situated at an altitude of 970 meters above sea level.
The landing station for paragliding is at an altitude of around 470 meters above sea level. Paragliding flights will take off from the take-off site and reach an altitude of up to 1,000 meters. Similarly, the landing station’s altitude is around 400 meters above sea level.
Tourists who come to experience the thrill of paragliding as an adventure sport can also enjoy the natural beauty, serene environment, the majestic Dodandaka hill, and the Thumkathumki area of the district. This not only promotes Sindhuli but also instills confidence in making it a prosperous district.
