In the ongoing franchise cricket tournament “Global T20 Canada,” Nepali spinner Sandeep Lamichhane showcased an outstanding performance. Thanks to his remarkable contribution, the Winnipeg Hawks achieved a successful outcome.
Sandeep’s exceptional performance earned him the title of “Man of the Match.” In the match against the Mississauga Panthers, he managed to secure eight wickets with an impressive economy rate. During his four overs, he only conceded six runs and took three wickets.
The Mississauga Panthers, after losing the toss, could only score 56 runs in 14.3 overs. With an excellent bowling display by Sandeep, along with support from Iftikhar Ahmed and Mathew Ford, who also secured two wickets each, the Winnipeg Hawks comfortably secured a victory.
The Panthers’ top two batsmen could only contribute two runs each. Opener Shreyas Movva scored 17 runs, and Nikhil Dutta added 10 runs. Sarabdeep Singh was the top scorer with 59 runs, but the total proved insufficient to challenge the Winnipeg Hawks.
In response, Winnipeg Hawks’ opening batsman Mohammad Haris scored 37 runs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das contributed 10 runs, and captain Iftikhar Ahmed added eight runs. The Hawks secured their victory in just seven overs.
In the current season of “Global T20 Canada,” Sandeep Lamichhane stands in the third position for taking the most wickets. He has taken ten wickets so far in the tournament. The top two bowlers with the most wickets are Lungi Ngidi in the first position and Mathew Ford in the second position, with 12 and 11 wickets, respectively.
