Kathmandu : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the government is bringing the big corruption cases under the scope of investigation and investigation. In a program organized today on the occasion of the 33rd establishment day of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Prime Minister Prachanda said that he is investigating those who are usurping government land and maintaining it in personal names.

‘The government is bringing major corruption cases under investigation and investigation. Those who grab government land and maintain it in personal name are being investigated. Frauds in the fields of cryptocurrency trading, hundi trading, gold smugglers and cooperatives etc. have been brought under the scope of action. Prachanda said, ‘The government is trying to remove the suffering faced by the people in public service delivery by controlling distortions, inconsistencies, delays and irregularities in public service delivery.’

He said that the overall development of the country cannot be envisioned without ending corruption ruthlessly. On the one hand, corruption has become an obstacle to the development progress of the country, on the other hand, it has eroded national values and created a class gap in the social structure due to the accumulation of individual or family special capital. For this, it is necessary for the responsible agencies of the state to act impartially, to be proactive and to develop a common anti-corruption awareness among the people. There has been a delay in developing the culture of transparency and public accountability in public bodies.’

He said that the current government will be ruthless against corruption to an extent. In order to maintain promptness, cleanliness and transparency in the public bodies that provide direct services to the people, the government of Nepal has tried to reduce the direct contact between the service provider and the customer through the maximum use of information technology in service delivery and minimize delay and unfair transactions. . Prachanda said, “As Nepal is a party to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Government of Nepal is determined to fulfill its national commitment by showing solidarity in the global effort against corruption. In this regard, necessary efforts will be made on the part of the government to pass the new Act by the Parliament within this year by making contemporary amendments to the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission Act which are currently in force for the full implementation of the matters mentioned in the Convention.

Stating that the authority is playing an important role in reducing corruption and promoting good governance, he mentioned that there are many internal and external challenges in the commission. The government is committed to investigate and prosecute any person, employee or official who commits wrongdoing and corruption from the top to the bottom level, and I also express my commitment that the government will not interfere with the commission in such activities.’
