Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has announced his retirement from domestic and international cricket. Dhawan announced his retirement today through social media. He has mentioned on social media that he is happy to leave after playing for India for a long time.
Dhawan last played an ODI for India in 2022. After Shubman Gill and other young players started performing well, Dhawan left the team. He has played in 34 Tests, 167 One Day Internationals and 68 T20 Internationals.
Dhawan, who has scored 6,793 runs in ODIs and 2,315 runs in 58 overs of Test competition, also holds the record for scoring a hundred in the fewest balls on his Test debut. He made his debut in the match against Australia in Mohali and scored a hundred off 85 balls. He is one of the eight batsmen to score more than 5000 runs in ODI cricket.
