Kathmandu. The seventh edition of ‘Women of the World Festival‘ is going to be organized in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Vritish Council will jointly organize the festival. Sunita Dangol, Deputy Head of the Metropolitan Municipality and Shahida McDougall, Country Director of the Council, have announced the signs of the festival. The first conference was held in London’s South Bank in 2011. The main goal of the festival is to empower women’s voices to bring about positive change for gender equality and inclusiveness.
The festival will be held on the 8th and 9th of Mansir (November 23 and 24). There will be more than 3 nature exhibitions in the 2-day festival. There will be more than 25 stalls. There will be more than 40 dialogues and speeches. More than 10 films will be screened. More than 5 workshops will be held. There will be more than 10 musical performances. It is expected that more than 10,000 people, including more than 100 artists, will participate in the program, which aims to have at least 500 students participate.
Last May, the delegation headed by Deputy Chief Dangol participated in the ‘Women of the World Festival’ held in Manchester, United Kingdom.
In the conference, experiences are shared on various issues of family, social, political, economic and other experiences of women. In the conference, speakers from various fields including music, art, literature, politics, actors, writers are invited.
‘Women of the World Festival’ will be held in Kathmandu on November 8 and 9: the goal is to have 10,000 women participate.
Priority will be given to the presentation of untold, untold and untold stories related to Nepali women’s endurance – Deputy Chief Dangol

Speaking at that time, Deputy Chief Dangol said that emphasis will be placed on the demonstration of untold, unasked and unspoken stories related to the endurance of Nepalese women. Narrating his experience of participating in a conference held in Wales last May, he said, ‘I have been inspired by women in leadership for the meaningful participation of women. It has many dimensions. Among them, political activism also provides empowerment.’
Speaking at the event, the British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, hoped that the festival would encourage women to take the journey to leadership positions. Similarly, Country Director Shahida held the view that the edition to be organized in collaboration with the Metropolitan Municipality will create a new dimension.
